Pieter Mortier is a double bass player, composer and organizer in the Ghentish music scene. His specialization: swing jazz. He breathes new life into this old music with his double bass.

 

He does this with different bands and through different subgenres: from hot jazz with Les Somnambules over lindy hop with Jake Walker, the fresh swing jazz of Eleanor to the pre-war French sentiment with La Sentinelle de la chanson and the adventurous MOM.

 

When he's not on stage himself, he organizes jams, acoustic concerts and micro-festivals.
